Genghis Khan by Ulysse Nardin:

A Monument in Horological Artistry

The Ulysse Nardin Genghis Khan watch stands as a masterpiece in modern watchmaking history.

Once, the tourbillon was an extremely high-end complex mechanism. Today, tourbillons have become more widespread, but automatons remain prestigious, with the most famous brands likely being Jaquet Droz and Ulysse Nardin. Among these, the Genghis Khan is seen by many as the most beautiful example of such watches to date.

The Ulysse Nardin Genghis Khan is the first watch in horological history to combine an automaton with a four-hammer, four-gong Westminster chime minute repeater and a tourbillon.

This impressively complex and elegant combination is housed within a perfectly sized 42mm case, making it, in the eyes of many, the most beautiful watch of its kind to date. The dial features four moving figures, dynamically positioned, depicting the grandeur of galloping horsemen, beneath which lies a large Pellaton tourbillon.

The genius behind this masterpiece is Christophe Claret. After Schnyder took over Ulysse Nardin, he collaborated with various talents, including the then-young future master, Christophe Claret, skilled in various types of repeater watches. Many of Ulysse Nardin's renowned repeater watches were crafted by him.

Years from now, when looking back at the greatest watches of this era, the Genghis Khan will surely hold a place of honor.
