The most impressive aspect of the watch is the craftsmanship and decorative artistry visible on both sides. The front features a skeletonized design under a sapphire crystal dial. The gong springs wrap around the hour and minute disks like alien orbits. The high-frequency oscillation of the clutch hairspring, reminiscent of violin strings, and the minute repeater racks and mysterious resonance system on the back, are compact and evoke a sense of science fiction.
Unlike the F.P. Journe's approach to resonance, which seems more metaphysical (I personally think the air deck resonance is idealized), Armin Strom's resonance employs a clutch hairspring for connection. This has a practical basis: when three regulators are placed on a freely moving plane, they can synchronize in a very short time, with a stronger mutual influence.
